Scope Requirements Gather IP Terminal Commands

Intended Audience: Channel Partners, White Label Partners, Tier 1 Technicians and higher

This document will teach you step by step, how to perform a firmware update on a fax bridge using PuTTY.

 

Requirements

  • Network access to Faxbridge
  • Private IP of Faxbridge
  • Putty or other SSH tool
  • Admin password for Faxbridge
  • Access to mFax
 

Gather IP

  1. Log into mFax.
  2. Find the fax bridge that you are going to perform a firmware update on and click on the gear icon
  3. Copy the private IP address into the Host Name (or IP address) box in PuTTY.
  4. Click Open

Terminal Commands

  1. Log in usin
  2. Type vfwu in the terminal.
  3. The command will update the firmware and restart the fax bridge.
