Obtain Your Softphone Information Add Device to Obitalk Portal Configure Device Codecs

Scope:

The following steps will allow you to configure an Obihai ATA phone manually for use with your Hosted PBX service. Note that a Faxbridge is the recommended device for analog fax and we will not be able to assist in troubleshooting any issues related to faxing with traditional ATAs.

 

Requirements:

  • Access to Manager Portal 
     
  • An Obitalk.com Account 
     
  • Lineman's butt set, or an analog phone 
     
  • All entries are case-sensitive unless otherwise noted 
     
  • Firmware Version Required: 3.1.0 (build 5110)+
 

 

Obtain Your Softphone Information

  1. Log into Manager Portal 
  2. Navigate to Phones
    NOTE: Office Managers can navigate to Users > select the user > Phones
  3. Select Phone Info for the phone you wish to register.
    NOTE: You will only see the information if the phone model is set to Manual or Softphone
  4. Take note of the listed information.
  5. Click Cancel when you are finished

Add Device to Obitalk Portal

  1. Connect your Obi device to the LAN and power
  2. Connect your lineman's butt set or analog telephone to the Phone port
  3. Using any browser navigate to https://obitalk.com and log in
  4. From the left menu click Add Device
  5. Click Next
  6. Open a line on the obihai device and press the key codes listed on the page
  7. You will hear an announcement saying "The number you've dialed has been sent to the server". You may disconnect the line
  8. The screen will change showing the Device model, OBi #, MAC, SN and status
  9. Click Confirm
  10. You should be taken back to your Manage Devices page with the notice that the Obihai has been added to your account
  11. Click on the ObiNo of the device you wish to manage
  12. Under the Notes tab, use the Device Note field to add a brief description of the ATA's use
  13. Click Save

Configure Device

  1. Click on Manage Devices at the left
  2. Find your device and click on the cog icon > Cloud Config
  3. Navigate to Service Providers > ITSP Profile A SIP
  4. Complete the following fields using the Manager Portal credentials, leaving all others as default.
    NOTE: You will need to uncheck No OBiProv and Device Default to make changes
    • ProxyServer: Enter the Domain/Proxy
    • RegistrarServer: Enter the Domain/Proxy
    • OutboundProxy:sbc.ucaasnetwork.com
    • X_DiscoverPublicAddress: false
      NOTE: You will need to scroll down further for this field
  5. Click Submit at the bottom of the page 
  6. Navigate to Voice Services > SP1 Service
  7. Complete the following fields using the Manager Portal credentials, leaving all others as default.
    NOTE: You will need to uncheck No OBiProv and Device Default to make changes 
    • AuthUserName: Enter the Username
    • AuthPassword: Enter the Password
    • URI: Enter the username@domain/proxy
  8. Click Submit at the bottom of the page

Codecs

  1. Navigate to Codecs > CODEC Profile A
  2. Disable the following codecs by unchecking Enable
    NOTE: You will need to uncheck No OBiProv and Device Default to make changes 
    • G711A
    • G729
    • G726R32
    • iLBC should be disabled by default, otherwise disable it
  3. Enable FAX Event
  4. Ensure the following are enabled
    • T38Enable
    • T38ECM
  5. Click Submit at the bottom of the page
