Find your IP address Configure the Digium IP Phone

Scope

Intended Audience: All End Users

In this article, we will show you how to remotely manually register your Digium IP Phone to our system.

 

Requirements

  • Digium phone removed from previous Asterisks system or disable the system itself.
  • The device must be added as a SIP Phone in the Manager Portal. Add a SIP Phone.
  • Gather the IP Address from the phone before factory resetting or find the IP address using any IP scanner software.
 

 

Please note

Before performing this, you need to disable the Asterisks system and factory reset the phone as this is needed to unlock the Web GUI for the phone. Once the phone has been factory reset do not select an extension and continue logging into the Web GUI through the IP Address of the phone.

 

 

Find your IP address 

  • Press the MORE softkey
  • Press the MENU softkey
  • Select ABOUT

This displays the phone's model number, firmware version, MAC address, and IP address 


Configure the Digium IP Phone

 

  1. Using any web browser navigate to the IP address from the above step
  2. Log in. The default credentials are admin/789
  3. You will then be prompted with the lines page

The differences between Line1 and other lines In the “Line1” tab, you can set the function of the “Msgs” button; in the other lines tab, you should configure “Line status” before you register an extension. The status of Line 1 is “YES” by default.

Fill in the following fields to register your phone.

  • User ID/Extension: Username from PBX Portal 
  • Authorization Name: Username from PBX Portal 
  • Line Label on Phone: Username from PBX Portal
  • Caller ID Name: Name of the user/extension
  • Digitmap: leave it as the default settings 
  • Register: set “Register” as “YES”
  • Password: Password from PBX Portal 
  • Voice Extension: 9901
  • IP Address or Hostname: the IP or hostname of your domain/proxy
  • Port: 5060 
  • Transport: UDP
  • Outbound Proxy:  outbound proxy found on the information provided on your Add a SIP Phone information.
  • Port: 5060
  • Click the button “Submit Phone Settings" and manually reboot the phone.

Once you have filled in the above line fields on the Web GUI, Manually reboot/restart the phone. Refresh the domain/portal and the phone should be showing a green check mark indicating that it is now online and registered.
