Download the Firmware Access the Web GUI Upgrade the Firmware Grandstream Firmware Recovery

Scope:

This article will show you how to perform a firmware upgrade on Grandstream phones. New firmware versions will upgrade your phone with the latest bug fixes and features available to your phone model.

 

Requirements: 
 

  • Phone Firmware File 
     
  • Access to phone Web GUI
 

 

Download the Firmware

  1. Navigate to http://www.grandstream.com/support/firmware
  2. Scroll down until you locate the model of the phone you are looking for
  3. Click on the firmware version of the phone to download the latest firmware or copy the HTTP Upgrade Server URL

Access the Web GUI

  1. Press the Up arrow key on the phone and note the IPv4 address
  2. Type in the IP address into the search bar of any computer browser and you should be met with the following screen
     
  3. The default login for an unprovisioned phone is admin/admin. Please contact support for the login for a provisioned phone

Upgrade the Firmware

  1. Navigate to the Maintenance tab and click on Upgrade and Provisioning 
     
  2. Click on Start and upload the firmware file previously downloaded
  3. Hit Save and Apply and the phone should reboot automatically, if not then press the Reboot button located at the top of the page

Grandstream Firmware Recovery

There are times when a firmware upgrade doesn't go as planned and the phone is stuck at a
booting and just won't completely start up. It is also possible to have a Firmware Recovery
with Grandstream, but you will need to download a third-party software to be able to do this.
This link will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to proceed with the recovery process.
