Virtual Multi-Purpose Key Types

Scope:

The following steps will allow you to configure BLF and Speed Dial keys on your Grandstream IP phone.

 

Requirements:

LAN access to your Grandstream IP phone

 

 

  1. e Keys > Virtual Multi-Purpose Keys
  2. The buttons for the phone will appear in numbered order going down the left side then down the right side. It is recommended to leave line 1 as it is used for registration
  3. On the key you wish to modify, select Edit VPK

  1. Enter the values described below:
    • Mode: Busy Lamp Field (BLF)
    • Accounts: Account 1
    • Description: Label you wish to appear on the screen (i.e. extension number)
    • Value: Extension number you wish to monitor (i.e. 201)

Click Save

  1. Continue the process for as many BLF keys as you wish At the end of the list, you may press Add VPK to continue adding more.
  2. Once finished click Save VPK

Virtual Multi-Purpose Key Types

VPK Mode Description
Line Used for active accounts. Typically used for the first button on the phone.
Shared Line Shares the same line across multiple phones
Speed Dial Open line and dial specified digits using selected account
Busy Lamp Field (BLF) Monitors presence of other extensions
Presence Watcher For future use
Eventlist BLF For future use
Speed Dial via Active Account Open line via current active account and dial specified digits
Dial DTMF Sends DTMF key tone
Voicemail Dials voicemail (9901)
Call Return Redials last dialed call
Transfer Transfers call to another extension or phone number
Call Park Transfer to parking lot
Monitored Call Park Transfer to monitored parking lot
Intercom Intercom with selected extension
LDAP Search For future use
Multicast Paging Pages specified group of extensions
Record Enables call recording from the phone
Call Log Opens device call history
Menu Opens device menu
